Survivor & Humanitarian Relief

Asylum

Every year people come to the United States seeking protection because they have suffered persecution or fear that they will suffer persecution due to their race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion. If you are eligible for asylum, you may be permitted to remain in the United States and receive a Green Card (Lawful Permanent Residence).

U-Visa

You may be eligible for a U-Visa if you are the victim of qualifying criminal activity, you have suffered substantial physical or mental abuse as a result of having been a victim of criminal activity, you were helpful, are helpful, or are likely to be helpful to law enforcement in the investigation or prosecution of the crime, and the crime occurred in the U.S. or violated U.S. law.

DACA

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, is a policy that protects people, also known as DREAMERS, who entered the U.S. unlawfully as children. With DACA, a person is allowed to obtain a work permit, driver’s license, and social security number. Although DACA does not currently provide a pathway to citizenship, new legislation has already been introduced into Congress to change that.
